Valve is a real-life company that is widely recognized in making and maintaining Steam, which is a gamer software client that majority of the games are sold over the internet by this service. Also, Valve has received awards for Portal 2 which was rated than 9 out of a scale of 10 on most of the criticism given. Gabe Newell and Mike Harrington formed this company back in 1996 and released Half-life in 1998 as their first game, and announced Steam in 2002. All current games by Valve uses the Source Engine and have their own technology to help make their games more unique.
